Dealing Death with "Underworld" Cosplay

For a series overflowing with vampires, werewolves, automatic weapons, broadswords, mutating viruses, forbidden love, ancient rivalries, and a butt-kicking female protagonist in a skintight bondage-inspired catsuit, you would think the Underworld movies (and their off-shoot comics, novels and video games) would see more than their fair share of cosplay love. But in truth, the colorful members of the series' Lycan and Vampire clans are woefully under-represented on convention floors.

German cosplayer NiKcKu Cosplay and her countryman, the extraordinary photographer Béèm, may have just gone a long way to changing that.

Shooting in and around an abandoned factory, and not skimping on the smoke, Béèm has perfectly recreated the palette of ancient Euro-menace and modern high-tech violence which has been the series' stock-in-trade for four films (two more are planned). For her part, NiKcKu Cosplay has exquisitely captured the other-worldly and rather limber menace of the Vampire clan's "Death Dealer," Selene.
